"Star Luster" Monthly Ballroom Dance Party on Nov. 29, 2008
"Star Luster" monthly ballroom dance party sponsored by CAGD Northern Activity Center, Western Activity Center (CAGD NAC, WAC) and Chinese Community Center (CCC) for Nov. 2008 will be held in the evening of Saturday 11/29/2008, and is open to public (not limited to Chinese
Community).
During the first half hour at the beginning of the dance party, the basic steps of international ballroom dances will be taught to dance lovers. It is very good and helpful for the beginners interested in ballroom dance. The two pair of lucky lottery tickets will be drawn on site to encourage attendants' suggestions and comments for the dance party better and successful. All of you who like to dance are invited to have a good time, meet new friends, promote physical health, and share the enjoyment of dance with beautiful music.

The Chinese Community Center is now offering small group Chinese lessons at multiple levels. All the courses provide an excellent opportunity for you to learn the Chinese language as well as Chinese culture. Classes will be taught in objective and interactive manner. Sachi Koto Communications, http://www.sachikoto.com/, in Atlanta hosts annual WWAAC (Who's Who in Asian American Communities Leaders & Legends Awards). This year, it was held in Los Angeles in August. We have two outstanding recipients of the award from Michigan, Wally Tsuha and Richard Chow-Wah. Sook Wilkinson wrote a brief Asian American history which was produced as a mini-documentary, shown at the awards ceremony.

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR RECRUITMENT FOR SOE 2009
The Board of Directors of Council of Asian Pacific Americans (CAPA) seeks candidates for the position of Artistic Director (AD) for the Splendor of the East (SOE) which will be held on Friday, May 1, 2009. The SOE is the only Asian Multi-Cultural performance in Michigan. The position becomes open October 1, 2008.
The position is neither a permanent nor a full time job. The selected candidate will provide the necessary time and effort required to present a cultural production, consistent with the CAPA-established theme, at the highest possible standard of excellence in the areas of musicality, direction and performance.
Below are the AD responsibilities and the required AD attributes of the ideal candidate.
A compensation package will be offered consistent with the CAPA-budgeted fee.

My name is Kara Fukumoto and I currently serve as the Outreach Coordinator for the Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) program in the Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF). If you are not familiar with GMS, the program is funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. It was established in 1999 to provide outstanding low income African American, American Indian/Alaska Natives, Asian Pacific Islander American, and Hispanic American students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in any discipline area of interest. Language Instructors needed
Hi CAPA Member,
I think we promoting the beauty of the cultural of the Asian Pacific People that we have to hire six people to present their native country to over 600 hundred participants in our summer programs and two language instructors to teach over 180 kids & adults basic communication in Japanese and now with our International Club we getting more requests for Japanese and and Chinese instructors we need your help. For immediately open position we need a Japanese teacher for 2 hours,3 days a week for one school year start September 15 to June 15,2009. Please help in getting the information to whom may concern .
