We have an opportunity at our Novi, Michigan North American headquarters
for an experienced Buyer. The successful candidate will procure or
purchase materials, parts and products at the best rate to meet
manufacturing needs. Responsibilities include maintaining positive
vendor relationships, processing delivery and target inventory levels.
Additional responsibilities include evaluating price, quality, services
support, availability, reliability, trend and other selection criteria
in making purchases.

Responsibilities for this position include:

* Assist and support all Tower Automotive North American business units
by working closely with the various project team leaders and all levels
of management.
* Provide purchasing support to the business units for development of
Tower Automotive's strategic business planning.
* Drive the highest quality, delivery, cost competitive, and customer
service from suppliers in the industry.
* Program sourcing and resolution of purchasing/commercial issues.
* Leverage Tower's product spend across all business units.
* Initiation and development of cost savings and continuous improvement.

* Develop request for quotations for programs and special in/out
sourcing projects.
* Participation in program team meetings.
* Performing supplier capacity analysis.
* Create purchase part tracking method.
* Ensuring program funding for long-lead supplier tooling (coordination
with Program Finance team).
* Negotiating cancellation/obsolesce costs.

Technical requirements:
* BS degree required, graduate degree a plus. Professional certification
helpful.
* Prefer 3+ years experience in purchasing/supply management or
engineering.
* Candidates should be proactive, resourceful, have tenacity and self
direction
* Bilingual (Korean/English)

Sponsor a needy kid in China through Hand by Hand Education Foundation

Hand by Hand Education Foundation (HBHEF) was  established and registered in the State of Michigan. This is a non-profit charitable foundation whose working staff are all unpaid volunteers. The aim of HBHEF is to help those needy kids in China who are in the danger of dropping out of schools because of their family's financial difficulties.
